“Bahamad” is a proposed coalition consisting of various groups, organisations, political parties, and activists striving for a non-violent transition from the Islamic Republic to a secular democratic republic in Iran. Our proposed republic will be based on human rights and fundamental freedoms, rule of law, and in congruence with division of power based on the principle of subsidiarity.
To this aim, the coalition defines itself as a coordinating body responsible for the accumulation and mobilisation of resources and capacities from both within and without its structures.
Among such responsibilities lies the mobilisation of resources based on solidarity, expansion of organisational structures, provision of political education to the members, representing the movement in politics and public, as well as representing the movement to its allies.
We find ourselves bound to respect human rights and fundamental freedoms as the foundation of all human societies as well as peace and justice all around the world. Therefore, we have and shall design and develop our structures based on the recognition of the diversity of origins and cultures, sexual orientations, gender identities, languages, ideologies, life experiences and circumstances, and an understanding of international solidarity.
Attempts will be made, via the application of democratic principles and procedures, to empower all our members to be able to effectively participate in all sorts of political events as it is our sincere hope to build a secular democratic republic from bottom up.
It is our mission to conserve nature and natural resources along with honouring people and their diverse needs in a way that is congruent with the reality of their lives. Using our organisational structures and culture, we will take every step necessary to build a future for the generations to come that is based on dignity and sustainability.
Thus, humans, their lives and dignity lie at the heart of our political activities. We consider these values as inviolable and undeniable and worthy of respect by everybody.
